THE LEGACY AT THE ESCAPE

What started as the historic Wagon Wheel tavern remains Wilmington’s backyard home for cold drafts, hot wings, and unpretentious neighborhood hospitality. Pull up a stool and join the family.

OUR PURPOSE

HONORING THE WAGON WHEEL LEGACY

We reopened these doors to keep a legendary neighborhood gathering spot alive. Travis and Dyana Jones stepped in to honor Mark Elliott's spirit, polish the bar, and keep the drafts cold for everyone.

THE BACKYARD REVOLUTION

FROM WAGON WHEEL TO ESCAPE

We kept the original wood, the gritty soul, and the unpretentious attitude that made this place a home. But we also built a massive outdoor stage out back where local bands play under the open sky.

Whether you're here for a basket of crispy wings, a cold draft after a hard shift, or to hear the guitars echo down Sugartree Street, you're always welcome.

PULL UP A STOOL TONIGHT

There are no reservations and no pretension here. Just hot wings, cold drafts, and live music out back on Sugartree Street. The stage is set.
